The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is the German lead institution of the BRIDGE project and serves as the overall coordinator of the initiative. Its expertise focuses on reservoir modeling, direct element extraction (DEE/DLE), water-rock interaction, and the simulation of processes associated with geological fluids. KIT leads the strategic structuring of the BRIDGE virtual institute, binational coordination, and the development of applied research on the sustainable extraction of critical raw materials from brines and geothermal fluids.

Role in the project

  • Overall coordination and strategic management of BRIDGE.
  • Leadership of the international steering committee.
  • Development of transport and reservoir models.
  • Organization of scientific symposia and institutional strengthening activities.
  • Collaboration with industry partners and development of new international funding proposals.
